WHAT IS WEEE?
WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, which refers to waste from all devices that depend on electrical currents or electromagnetic fields to function properly, as well as equipment for generating, transferring, and measuring these currents and fields. WEEE often contains toxic and polluting substances, and improper disposal can cause environmental pollution with potential effects on human health.

Legislative Decree 49/2014 on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

This decree mandates that all end-of-life electrical and electronic devices must not enter the regular urban waste stream. Instead, they must follow a separate collection process, prioritizing the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain.

Consumers can dispose of used electrical and electronic equipment by delivering it to public collection services, taking it to designated municipal areas (ecological stations), or returning it to retailers. Leading manufacturers actively participate in creating and managing systems for collecting and disposing of discarded devices.

In compliance with Article 1, Paragraph 1 of Ministerial Decree 65/2010 and Article 11, Paragraph 1 of Legislative Decree 49/2014, customers are informed that T-Data S.r.l. ensures the free collection of old electrical or electronic equipment (WEEE) with the same functionality as newly supplied electrical or electronic equipment (EEE) for domestic use.

Key Notes:

  • Free WEEE collection ("1-to-1 WEEE collection," as required by Ministerial Decree 65/2010) is provided under the condition that the WEEE originates from a domestic household and is equivalent in type, meaning it performed the same functions as the newly purchased equipment.
    • Example: When purchasing a power bank, T-Data S.r.l. guarantees free collection of an old power bank.
  • Free WEEE collection will occur, unless otherwise specified by the user, within a maximum of 30 working days from receiving the collection request, following contact from T-Data S.r.l.'s designated courier.

1:1 WEEE COLLECTION

The 1-to-1 WEEE collection service applies when supplying a new equivalent device for household WEEE. Commercial, industrial, institutional, or other types of WEEE (dual-use) similar in nature and quantity are also treated as domestic WEEE.

Conditions for Requesting Collection:

To utilize the collection service for used EEE products, ensure that the newly purchased equivalent equipment from T-Data S.r.l. displays the phrase “Product subject to WEEE” on the product page of the website.

Free collection is not available for purchases of items not categorized as EEE, as detailed in Annexes 1 and 2 of Legislative Decree 49/2014.

Under Article 12, Paragraph 4 of Legislative Decree 49/2014, WEEE collection may be refused if:

  • There is a risk of contamination to collection personnel;
  • The WEEE lacks its essential components;
  • The equipment for which collection was requested contains waste other than WEEE.

How to Request Free WEEE Collection:

After completing the purchase and payment process as indicated on the website, simply send an email to cellularline.seller.esp@t-data.it with the subject “WEEE Collection Request”, including the order number for the newly purchased equivalent equipment.

If multiple products are purchased, specify in the email body the number of products for which WEEE collection is requested. This number must not exceed the quantity of products purchased.

  • Example: For two power banks purchased, the customer can request the collection of one or two old power banks but not three.

How Free WEEE Collection is Carried Out:

Customers requesting WEEE collection will be contacted by the courier designated by T-Data S.r.l. within seven working days from the request to agree on a collection date. Unless otherwise specified, collection will occur within 30 working days from the request's receipt.

On the agreed date, the used product must be ready for collection, packaged, and accessible at its location. The collection address must match the delivery address of the new purchased equipment.

Customers acknowledge that if, during collection, the equipment does not match the type of the newly supplied equipment, the courier will not proceed with collection. If this mismatch is evident from the email request, the courier will not contact the customer.

Under Article 12, Paragraph 4 of Legislative Decree 49/2014, WEEE collection may be refused if:

  • There is a risk of contamination to collection personnel;
  • The WEEE lacks its essential components;
  • The equipment contains waste other than WEEE.

Important Notice:
If the product for which the WEEE service is requested contains personal data (e.g., photos, phone numbers, files), ensure these are deleted before disposal.
